🇭🇰 Hong Kong Travel Requirements for Filipinos
Planning a Hong Kong getaway? ✈️
Good news! Filipino passport holders can visit Hong Kong visa-free for up to 14 days for tourism.
But visa-free doesn't mean passport lang. 😅 You still need to prepare a few things before your flight and yes, there are also Philippine departure requirements to remember.
Here are the important things to prepare:
📋 Important Requirements
🛂 1. Philippine Passport
Make sure your passport is valid and in good condition. For a smoother trip, it's best to have at least 6 months validity remaining before your departure.
It’s also a good idea to keep a digital copy of your passport on your phone. Better safe than sorry, diba?
🎫 2. Return Ticket
Have a confirmed return or onward ticket showing that you intend to leave Hong Kong.
It’s one of those documents you probably won't think about until someone asks for it, so keep a screenshot or copy handy.
🎟️ 3. Boarding Pass
Once you've checked in for your flight, make sure you have your boarding pass ready, whether it's a printed copy or a digital version on your phone.
If you're using a mobile boarding pass, save a screenshot in advance so you can still access it even without an internet connection.
Tip: Double-check the flight details, passenger name, date, and destination before heading to the airport.
🏨 4. Hotel or Accommodation
Bring your hotel reservation or proof of accommodation and know your hotel's name and address.
If you haven't booked yet, you can book your Hong Kong hotel through Agoda and use code MYAGODA for hotel bookings, subject to the applicable promo terms.
Immigration: “Where are you staying?”
You: “Wait lang po, nasa screenshot!” 😂
Having your booking ready makes things much easier.
💰 5. Sufficient Funds
Be prepared to show that you can support yourself during your trip. Bank documents, credit/debit cards, cash, or other proof of financial capacity may help.
You don't need to bring your entire bank account to Hong Kong, of course. Just make sure you have enough funds for your planned stay.
💼 6. Proof of Employment or Income
If applicable, bring documents that can support your employment, source of income, or ties to the Philippines. The documents you may prepare can depend on your situation:
👔 If you're employed by a private company:
- Certificate of Employment (COE)
- Company ID
- Approved leave or leave of absence
- Recent payslips
- Other employment documents, if applicable
🏛️ If you're a government employee:
- Certificate of Employment or employment certification
- Government-issued office/employee ID
- Approved leave or travel authority, if applicable
- Recent payslips
💼 If you're a business owner or self-employed:
- DTI Certificate of Business Name Registration, if applicable
- Business Permit/Mayor's Permit
- Business or income documents, if applicable
- BIR registration or tax documents, if applicable
🧑💻 If you're a freelancer or independent professional:
- Contracts or client agreements, if applicable
- Recent invoices or proof of income
- BIR registration or tax documents, if applicable
- Other documents showing your source of income
Not everyone will be asked for all of these documents, but having relevant proof available can give you extra peace of mind.
Mas okay nang ready kaysa naghahanap ng document habang nasa airport ka na.
🗺️ 7. Basic Itinerary
Know your travel plans, including where you're staying, what you plan to visit, and when you're returning to the Philippines.
No need for a 20-page itinerary with every meal scheduled. 😂 A simple day-by-day plan is enough.
Just know your trip. That's the important part.
🇵🇭 8. Philippine eTravel
Don't forget your Philippine eTravel registration before your departure.
You can register within 72 hours or 3 days before your departure flight from the Philippines. Travelers are advised to present their eTravel QR code before boarding. Registration is free, so be careful with websites or people asking you to pay just to register.

Tip: Save a screenshot of your QR code. Airport Wi-Fi isn't something you want to put your faith in. 😅
💸 9. Philippine Travel Tax
If you're required to pay the Philippine travel tax, make sure it's settled before your flight.
The current full travel tax is:
- ₱1,620 for Economy/Business Class
- ₱2,700 for First Class
Some travelers may qualify for reduced rates or exemptions. Also, check your airline ticket first because the travel tax may already be included in your fare.
No one wants to start their vacation by discovering they paid the same fee twice. Sayang ang pang-shopping!
Just in case you haven’t paid yet, you can pay at the airport travel tax counter or through the TIEZA website, but there’s an additional ₱50 “convenience” fee.

🧾 No Arrival Card in Hong Kong
One less thing to worry about: Hong Kong does not require visitors to complete an arrival or departure card.
Hong Kong Immigration confirms that visitors are not required to submit an arrival or departure card for immigration examination.
So when you arrive, you don't have to look around for that little form and start hunting for a pen.
🎟️ Save on Hotels & Activities!
Planning to book your accommodations and attractions in advance?
You can book your Hong Kong hotels and activities on Agoda and use these codes:
🏨 Hotels: Code MYAGODA — save up to ₱6,100 OFF
🎟️ Activities, including HK Disneyland: Code MYTIX — save up to ₱600 OFF
Both codes can be used up to 5×, subject to the applicable promo terms and availability. (Promo amounts as of August 27, 2026.)
So whether you're booking your hotel or planning your attraction tickets, it’s worth checking the available deals before paying full price.
A little discount here, a little discount there.... baka may pang-milk tea pa. 😂
